simple designs for everyday life.

Inspired by a lifetime on the water and a love for the outdoors, we began creating prints and jewelry influenced by the world around us. Salt and Sap is a reflection of our passions and the places we love. We started Salt and Sap while living on our sailboat in Maine, sailing as often as possible, and taking every opportunity to explore the coast. This is the salt. We also come from the mountains as skiers, hikers, and explorers. This is the sap.

While we have since moved ashore, we are still deeply rooted in the maritime world, working as a rigger at a local shipyard and a mate on a tugboat along the coast. We continue to to pull inspiration from the natural world, working with wood and leather, and we love to incorporate traditional rigging practices as well.

Everything we make is done in small batches and handmade. The time, attention, and simple process is evident in the subtle variations as each piece is created intentionally and lovingly, one at a time.

Like many aspects of life, Salt and Sap continues to evolve as the world changes around us and inspirations strike. Check back often for new products! Thank you for joining us on this adventure!
